End of Month Report

So here we find ourselves faced with our first bimonthly report. CIDA requires that we submit statistics....so we've started compiling a few.

# of skirts chewed on by cow: 1

# of giant grasshoppers to land on Bryony: 16

# of giant grasshoppers received as gifts in town: 1

# of giant grasshoppers eaten: 11

# of batches of rice we've burnt: 2

# of batches of rice we haven't burnt: 3

# of rocks found in rice: approximately 125

# of centipedes stepped on in our house: 32

# of baby spiders, recently hatched from egg sac, found on Bryony's skirt: 70+

# of wipeouts in the mud: 4

# of different dugouts paddled: 11

# of times we almost got struck by lightning in a dugout canoe: 1

# of eggs received, accompanied by love letter: 12

# of people asking Emily to read to her from her book: 1

# of meals eaten with the Bishop: 3

# of chomo (roasted goat on a stick) eaten: 7 (bought through bus and truck windows)

# of boda trips: officially, 0; unofficially, 16

# of boda accidents: 1

# of class 5 rapids rafted: 4

# of bruises on Bryony's body as a result: so many.

# of times we've been on Ugandan television: 2

crazy things transported on boda bodas: 1 milk can, 4 jerry cans, many matresses, 1 giant piece of corrugated tin roofing, lumber, a giant log, some poles, 40 pineapples, 4 people, 5 huge bunches of plantains, a 2-burner stove, 1 single bed frame, and a 1m diameter satalite dish.

crazy things transported on peoples' heads: 20 litre jerry can, bundle of reeds, bundle of sticks, giant sac full of produce, 50 kg bag of cement, hiking pack, suitcase, pieces of bed frame, 6 matresses.
