calm before the storm

So...here we are in Vancouver, 24 ish hours away from orientation. wow. it's been great to be in BC before orientation, it's given us a chance to rest a little and visit friends and family.

I arrived about a week ago and have been staying with my aunt, uncle, cousin and their cat... very fun. they have been super, taking me to their beautiful place on Denman Island (jellyfish, seals, bats), and I have enjoyed some good down time here in Coquitlam.

After a crazy last couple of days in Toronto, I arrived safely in BC and pretty much slept for 14 hours straight. hmm. feeling much better now.

Yesterday we made it out to the middle of nowhere BC (ie. Trinity Western), we were pretty sure that our friend Grace should have had a cow or pigs or chickens. she had a gnome village in her backyard instead. go grace! it was great to see her and catch up over a delicious lunch at a quaint little cafe in Fort Langley called Wendel's. unfortunately we missed Laura, but hope to see her Friday.

Last night, we were treated to our 'last supper' at Pacific Rim where we enjoyed various delicious foods that we cannot pronounce. thanks a. nancy and u. dave! worth mentioning...the scrumptious butternut squash soup. yum!!

to do today: rachel, rob, shop, rabies, pack.

hey bry - kudos to us, first ever africa blog!

got to be honest em...wasn't sure it was going to happen.
